Overview

We try to collect only the information we reasonably need to run TeeHouse, improve the product, support users, keep the service reliable and secure, and comply with legal obligations.

Information We Collect

We may collect account and profile information such as your email address, username, display name, profile photo, and other details you choose to add, including basic account information made available by a sign-in provider such as Apple or Google.

We also collect the content and activity you choose to submit, including uploaded photos, ratings, reviews, notes, course comparisons, wishlists, played-course activity, lists, profile images, trip-related content, support messages, and other materials you upload or share through TeeHouse.

We may collect records of your policy acknowledgements, account settings, visibility choices, notifications and communication preferences, and similar product settings.

We may collect information related to moderation, abuse prevention, safety review, fraud detection, policy enforcement, rights-holder requests, legal requests, disputes, and support history, including reports, timestamps, device and session signals, and related correspondence.

In addition, we may collect usage, analytics, device, browser, network, technical, diagnostic, crash, error, and optional location information to understand product usage, improve performance, diagnose issues, and support nearby-discovery and map features when you grant location access.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide, operate, maintain, personalize, and improve TeeHouse. That includes managing accounts, displaying user profiles and content, powering course pages, rankings, feeds, recommendations, featured placements, and discovery features, syncing saved activity, and developing new features.

We also use information to support moderation, abuse prevention, fraud detection, rights-holder review, policy enforcement, safety and security work, troubleshooting, analytics, product research, legal compliance, and recordkeeping.

Some rankings, recommendations, featured placements, summaries, and similar outputs may be informed by user activity, editorial choices, automated systems, or AI-assisted tools that use available information to organize or present content.

User Content and Visibility

TeeHouse is a social and informational product, so content you choose to submit may be shown to other users or on TeeHouse surfaces depending on the feature and your visibility settings.

Uploaded photos may appear on course pages and may also be featured or promoted within TeeHouse, including in rankings, recommendations, feeds, collections, search results, share previews, and similar product surfaces.

If you post content about other people or property, please share only what you are comfortable making visible and only what you have permission to share. Visibility changes or later deletion requests may not immediately remove content from every place it has already appeared.

Sharing with Service Providers / Vendors

We use third-party providers for services such as hosting, storage, content delivery, authentication, analytics, error monitoring, communications, customer support, mapping, search, moderation tools, trust and safety review, AI and automation tooling, app infrastructure, and professional or compliance workflows. Those providers may process information on our behalf as needed to provide their services.

We may also share information with other users or the public when a product feature is designed to make content visible, with affiliates and professional advisors, with rights holders or affected parties when reasonably needed to review moderation or takedown issues, and when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to legal process, or protect TeeHouse, our users, rights holders, or others.

No Sale of Personal Information

TeeHouse does not sell personal information, and we do not sell user-generated content such as photos, ratings, reviews, or course activity.

Data Retention / Backups / Caching

We keep information for as long as it is reasonably needed to operate TeeHouse, support users, improve the product, protect the service, maintain records, and meet legal or legitimate operational needs.

If you delete content or request account deletion, that information may be removed from active use before backup copies, caches, logs, search indexes, analytics stores, moderation systems, abuse-prevention systems, security tools, and scheduled cleanup processes are fully cleared.

Content that has already been incorporated into course pages, rankings, recommendation surfaces, feeds, featured placements, moderation systems, internal review materials, or legal records may continue to be retained, and in some cases may continue to appear or be processed for a period, subject to applicable law and operational needs.

User Choices

You can usually update profile information, edit or remove certain content, and manage some visibility settings through product features. You can also manage device permissions, such as location access and notifications, through your device or browser settings.

You can request account deletion through the in-product flow if available or by contacting support@teehouse.app. Deleting content or an account does not guarantee immediate or complete removal from backups, caches, logs, previously published course pages or featured surfaces, or records we keep for safety, fraud prevention, moderation, and legal reasons.

You can choose not to provide certain information, but some features may not work without it.

International Access / Processing

TeeHouse may be accessed from and supported by people, systems, and service providers in countries other than your own. By using TeeHouse, you understand that information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in places where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.

Where appropriate, we use reasonable steps designed to support lawful transfers and appropriate handling of information.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to help protect information, but no system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as TeeHouse evolves. If we make material changes, we may update the date above and provide additional notice when appropriate.
